Karl
Reindler
A former open wheeler racing star, Western Australian
Karl Reindler is making his first full-time start in the
V8 Supercar Championship Series in 2010. The 2004 Australian
Formula 3 Champion, Reindler represented Australia in A1
Grand Prix as well as competed in international sportscar
racing before debuting in the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series
in 2008 in a Howard Racing Falcon. He finished eighth in
the championship in his debut year, a result good enough
to earn the Mike Kable Young Gun Award for the best first-year
V8 Supercar driver. An endurance call-up to fill in for
the injured Grant Denyer at Bathurst rounded out a solid
season before Reindler spent 2009 largely on the sidelines.
After initially planning to re-enter the Fujitsu Series,
his only racing for the season came in the endurance races
at Phillip Island and Bathurst where he joined Jason Bright
in the Fujitsu Falcon. A solid run in those two races helped
open the path for Reindler to drive a Commodore in 2010
prepared by Brad Jones Racing. But it will be run under
the Britek Motorsport REC owned by Jason Bright, who will
be team-mates to Reindler in another car from the Albury
team’s workshop. |
